La Mexicana in Atascadero

Their pozole is absolutely delicious! And the gentleman who servered was very polite. Will stop here and eat again when in town. Definitely try this place!!

Best Mexican food in North county, they never disappoint! Albondigas soup is where it's at!

It seams expensive until you see the portions. The veggie borrito i got will feed me for 3 meals 😂 and it was suprisingly good. I got the best horchata ive ever had. Definitely my new favorite mexican place.Only downside is all of the togo containers are styrofoam so see if you can bring your own togo containers or cups.

This place is awesome they have great Mexican food there. I go there quite often to get the Menudo definitely the best place to get menudo in all of North County. The staff are very very friendly and the restaurant is always so clean. Every time I go there it's not usually too busy which is nice. You can also order tamales there for Christmas or New Year's or just about any time I'm sure.

My family has been eating there for 18 years. We have watched their two girls grow up and help in the restaurant and then one daughter leave and become an EMT. Before I even sit down, they are bringing my favorite beverage. To top it off, the food is always great.

My girlfriend and I split the grandè burrito, and still left full!Totally the place to split a burrito with a pretty person today. ( Or kinda pretty, it's up to you. I won't judge.)

What do you imagine when you order a veggie burrito? Probably onions and peppers.. maybe tomatoes or avocado. At this restaurant, your veggie burrito comes with the veggie medley you get at the freezer section of your local grocery store. I'm talking wave cut carrots, broccoli and cauliflower IN A BURRITO.One extra star because the chips and salsa were bomb.

Had great food nice and heat hot the cheese was melted. Wonderful staff very friendly loved the salsa it wasn't to hot

La Mexicana is one of our go-to restaurants in Atascadero. The food is always good, we're always recognized, as we do come in regularly, and I like their salsa. One of my favorites is the fajitas, and one dinner full of fajitas is enough for both of us. Order up and enjoy all the usual Mexican fare, and real nice chili verde

Live the chille relleno here and if you want Mexican Mama's Menudo, this is the place. My husband is very picky and he loves the menudo

The best Authentic food I've had in a while.

Observations:- Asada and Pastor tacos are decent - Carnitas are not crispy. They are seasoned shredded pork.- Bamba burrito tastes like pork, beans, and rice. There isn't a lot of flavor or spice.If you like large portions without much flavor this is where should eat. I probably won't eat here again.

Stopped in after Sunday services. Food was okay but prices a little high. One would think prices would reflect in food quality.Service was good.

Best menudo ever. Service is always fast and friendly. Terrific value I love their sopes and guacamole. We first went here on a whim when me moved to town and keep coming back to this gem.

The staff is very friendly. Food is fresh and prepared quickly. Small town atmosphere. I have the shrimp enchilada. The enchilada sauce with spicy. I would definitely have it again.

Yikes. Can't for the life of me understand why this is so popular. Over priced slop. And old, torn seats when I was there.

Top notch mexican food

We stopped for breakfast and we're good we did. The chilaquiles were amazing: crispy tortilla chunks, perfectly cooked beans, eggs lightly scrambled into the mixture, topped with ranchero sauce and cheese. We also ordered the pozole, which arrived in a huge bowl with a side of small tostadas and beans with cabbage, cilantro, and onions to put in the soup. The spot is cozy, a little retro, and clean. Definitely a must visit, especially for breakfast.

The food here is good, but as a Mexican restaurant in Atascadero it faces stiff competition; so, for a local restaurant it's middle of the pack. The atmosphere is cute--Route 66 diner meets Mexican restaurant. Warning: when your server cautions that your plate is hot, pay attention. I slightly burned my knuckle on the plate.

Pozole was wonderful. I miss it already. I was only visiting the area, but next time I pass through I'll be stopping by!

Consistently excellent food. Best Mexican food restaurant on the Central Coast-and this includes the Santa Maria area.
